"NELAX Lumberjack's Nap," a forest bathing fragrance containing essential oils from Kanayama Cedar, a brand of wood produced in Kanayama Town, Yamagata Prefecture, is now on sale at the in-house shop of "Nihon no Yado Koyo," a famous inn in Kaminoyama City.
Kanayama Town's brand timber, "Kanayama Cedar," is known for its fine annual rings and high aromatic content, and is supplied sustainably through a town-wide landscape and forest utilization campaign.
Cedrol, an aromatic compound found in abundance in Kanayama cedar, is reported to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, contributing to a relaxing effect before falling asleep and improving the quality of sleep.
