Joint Research and Co-Development with Yamagata University
To enable the NELAX Weighted Eye Mask to provide higher-quality sleep to more people, we conducted scientific testing and research in collaboration with Professor Yasuki Yamauchi, Representative of the Good Sleep Consortium at Yamagata University and Director of the Sleep Management Research Center.
Results from Sleep Testing Conducted at Yamagata University
The results showed a more pronounced difference in sleep depth than expected when using the weighted eye mask. Compared with other eye masks, the weighted eye mask demonstrated a strong correlation with deeper sleep.
A clinical verification study on sleep was conducted for the NELAX Weighted Eye Mask through Yamagata University's sleep consortium.

Test Procedure
- Participants were provided with a comfortable sleep environment and asked to avoid caffeine and alcohol before sleep.
- EEG (electroencephalogram) devices were attached to participants, and sensors were positioned appropriately.
- On separate days, each participant took naps under three conditions: no eye mask, a standard eye mask, and the weighted eye mask.
- Brain waves were recorded during each session to observe indicators related to sleep depth and relaxation.
- EEG data from each eye mask condition were compared to evaluate relaxation effects and sleep quality.
